Planet First Partners (PFP), the growth equity investment platform deploying capital at the intersection of technological innovation and planetary imperative, today announced the appointment of Carolyn Magill, Thomas Buberl, and Eddie Alleyn to its Advisory Board. These three accomplished leaders bring deep domain expertise across global healthcare and health data analytics, international insurance and climate finance, and UK defence and national security, further expanding our ability to support founders operating at the frontier of sustainability and innovation.

Thomas Buberl — Global Insurance, Financial Services & Climate Finance

Thomas Buberl serves as CEO and Director of AXA, leading one of the world's largest insurance and financial services groups. A Founding Member of the Climate Finance Leadership Initiative (CFLI), Mr. Buberl has been at the forefront of integrating climate finance and ESG principles into global investment strategy. His career spans consulting at the Boston Consulting Group, senior leadership roles at Winterthur Group and Zurich Insurance, and executive positions across AXA's global operations. He sits on the Board of Directors of IBM and the Board of Trustees of the World Economic Forum. He holds a Master of Economics from WHU Koblenz, an MBA from Lancaster University, and a PhD in Economics from the University of St. Gallen.  

Mr. Buberl will contribute to Planet First Partners’ Advisory Board unparalleled expertise in global insurance and financial services, as well as climate finance and ESG integration.

Carolyn Magill — Healthcare Technology & Digital Health

Carolyn Magill is a seasoned healthcare CEO with a track record of scaling investor-backed businesses across life sciences, payer, and provider sectors. As former CEO of Aetion — a leading health data platform acquired by Datavant — and as former CEO of Remedy Partners – a leading bundled payment convener for the healthcare sector later merged into Signify Health – Ms. Magill brings unparalleled experience in health data analytics and digital health. She also served as EVP at Evolent Health from its early days through IPO, and previously held senior roles at UnitedHealth Group and PwC. Currently a Venture Partner at Define Ventures, she holds a Wharton MBA and a Harvard undergraduate degree.  

Ms. Magill will contribute to Planet First Partners’ Advisory Board a wealth of experience in Real-World Evidence (RWE) and health data analytics, digital health venture investing and scaling, and US payer and health system strategy.

Eddie Alleyn — UK Defence, National Security & Deep Tech

Eddie Alleyn brings a distinguished career spanning the UK Foreign Affairs, Defence, and National Security communities, culminating in five years as Chair and CEO of HMGCC — effectively a National Laboratory for National Security engineering. In the second part of his career, Mr. Alleyn has built a portfolio of Advisory and Board roles with early-stage, British deep tech and dual-use companies, has founded a deep tech company and a consultancy on Insider Risk, and has been an Advisor to two other early-stage investment funds. His areas of expertise include quantum computing, cyber security, AI, sensors, drones, digital identity, biometrics, and space.  

Mr. Alleyn will contribute to Planet First Partners’ Advisory Board a breadth of knowledge and understanding across defence, resilience and deep tech.
